The Tascam US144 4-channel USB audio interface has been updated to the Tascam US-144MKII with improved audio specs and new styling. The Tascam US-144mkII USB audio interface provides two XLR microphone preamps with +48V phantom power for condenser microphones, pair of balanced TRS line inputs and a Hi-Z guitar-level in for direct recording of electric guitars or basses. A pair of S/PDIF coaxial digital inputs and outputs is also included, for a total of four inputs and outputs at up to 96kHz / 24-bit audio quality.

The Tascam US-144mkII connects to Mac or Windows computers using USB 2.0 unit is powered via the USB cable. Zero-latency input monitoring is available for recording without the delay caused by the input signal going to a computer and back trhough the interface. 16-channels of MIDI input and output allow connection of synths, sound modules and drum machines. Connect the US-144mkII to monitors through the unbalance RCA pin line outputs or use headphones with the front-mounted stereo 1/4" jack. Separate level controls for line outputs and headphone out mean you don't need to switch off monitor speakers to monitor via headphones. The Tascam US-144mkII makes a perfect portable interface with metal components and solid construction built for the road.

The Tascam US-144mkII audio MIDI interface is ultra-portable with a small footprint and rugged aluminum frame. Being USB bus powered, the Tascam US-144MK2 does not need an AC mains adapter and is ready for mobile recording with a laptop computer. It's great for running a stereo output from a live mixing console and recording your band as you gig, or for keeping a record of rehearsals.

The Tascam US-144mk2 includes a copy of Steinberg Cubase LE4 for Mac and PC, a full-featured recording software captures up to 48 tracks of audio with another 64 MIDI tracks. Edit tracks to perfection using a variety of modes and tools. Automated mixing is included to create the perfect master. Steinberg Cubase LE4 supports VST effect and instrument plug-ins, which an assortment included with the application.
