While the evolution series microphones are still setting standards in the market, Sennheiser got yet another sensation to come: Evolution goes wireless! The idea makes sense though since Sennheiser are not only considered pioneers in terms of microphone design, but also in terms of wireless technology.

Offered at a brilliant price, the three new UHF series currently available all feature rugged, roadworthy construction, digital user interface and excellent sound quality which is ensured by HDX companding, which is a new technology developed by Sennheiser. All three receivers provide professional features such as symmetrical audio outputs, true diversity reception, programmable squelch control, switchable keylocks as well as BNC antenna jacks. In addition, all handheld transmitters are compatible with any of the following microphone heads; the affordable e835 (green colour ring) capsule, the multipurpose microphone e845 (blue colour ring) capsule or the newly developed evolution e865 (red colour ring) capsule. The bodypack transmitters are compatible with the lavalier microphones ME 2, ME 3, and ME 4.

All three sets are upgradeable by a wide range of accessories such as beam antennas, boosters, antenna splitters for multichannel operation, rackmounts etc. Sennheiser’s systems are based upon each other, i.e. the more expensive set automatically includes the features of its less expensive version. Thus you won’t have to miss out on quality buying an affordable model, you just won’t need to pay for additional features you might not need if you’re not a professional user.

Why choose a headset microphone?
Headset microphones offer a good alternative to microphones used with stands. These microphones are integrated into a more-or-less ergonomically optimised headband. The distance between capsule and mouth is thus always kept constant. Combined with a bodypack transmitter, singers are given complete freedom of movement on stage.
