The Korg R3 is a full-fledged synthesizer that provides an affordable way to enjoy sophisticated synthesis and advanced sound creation. In a compact and light-weight body, the Korg R3 packs 37 full-size, velocity sensing keys, along with two-timbre/eight-voice performance power. The sound generator section uses the same MMT Multiple Modeling Technology used by the KORG RADIAS, delivering thick, gutsy, and crisp analogue sounds. With quality that will satisfy both professionals and beginners, the Korg R3 synthesizer vocoder is a great choice for adding synth sounds on stage or in music production.
The Korg R3 is a powerful compact synthesizer with vocoding, featuring 37 full size, velocity sensing keys as well as 2-timber 8-voice performance power suitable for adding synth sounds in music production or on stage. The R3 features a XLR mic input on the front panel for use with the 16-band vocoder, a USB connection for access to the PC editor for creating, manipulating, and storing sounds. The huge range of warm textured sounds is generated by the same Multiple Modelling Technology featured in the Korg Radias range of synths.
The Korg R3 Synthesizer/Vocoder contains 128 on-board Programs organized by sound category for easy access. A single R3 Program consists of two complete Timbres, each is a complete synth sound including dual Insert effects from 30 on-board effect types and assignable EQ. The Program itself offers a Master effect, plus an 8 step arpeggiator. Two oscillators offer analogue-modeled waves, DWGS waves, noise, sync, ring mod and more. Waveform modulation, Variable Phase Modulation (VPM), Unison voice thickening, PWM and cross-mod expand the sonic palette. Two LFOs and three ADSR envelopes shape the sound and add cyclic motion to nearly any voice parameter. Various modulation sources and destinations can be connected together using the six Virtual Patches.
Dual Filters on the Korg R3 Synthesizer Vocoder can run in series, parallel, or side by side (individual for each oscillator). Filter1 features a multi-mode filter covering 24 dB low pass, 12 dB low pass, 12 dB high and band pass modes, with the ability to continuously "morph" between these states. Filter2 offers 12 dB versions of the low, high and band pass modes, plus a unique comb filter.
The Korg R3 sound generator uses the same MMT Multiple Modelling Technology as found in the Korg Radias synth for accurate, true-to-life analogue sounds. MMT synthesis's range of built-in oscillator algorithms contains analogue synth waveforms, digital waveforms and even live audio input. Each voice has two oscillators: Oscillator 1 offers the choice of 7 waveforms including sawtooth, pluse, formant, noise and DWGS as well as being able to select an external audio source connected to Audio Input 1 and 2 jacks, Oscillator 2 gives the choice of 4 waveforms like sawtooth and sine and can be used as a modulation oscillator.
