Korg KAOSSILATOR Pro
The Korg Kaossilator Pro is a handheld, intuitive and interactive synth that allows you to create sounds and phrases by tapping or sliding your finger across it's X-Y touchpad. The Kaossilator Pro is loaded with 200 synth and drum sounds, four loop record banks, 31 scale patterns, and gate arpeggiators.
The Korg Kaossilator Pro touchpad synthesizer provides built-in sounds from a range of musical genres: techno, house, hip hop, R&B, reggae and electro. Additional sounds simulate acoustic instruments such as piano, trumpet, basses and guitar. High-fidelity PCM samples have been added to the DSP engine for realistic drum sounds, twenty drum hits and twenty-five preset drum patterns. A total of 200 programs are available, including fifteen vocoder programs that can process external audio. Eight memory keys recall preset programs.
Playing sounds and programs is easy with the Korg Kaossilator Pro synth. In addition to free-form performances, a musical key and any of 31 scales can be selected. The X-Y touchpad covers the full note range or a single octave for nuanced control. The Gate Arpeggiator, derived from Korg's Electribe, adds pitch and timing information, and can be used with the X-Y touchpad for groove creation.
The Korg Kaossilator Pro synth allows the creation of up to four-bar looped musical phrases. External audio from an MP3 player, nstrument or a microphone running through the internal vocoder can be recorded as part of a looped phrase. The Kaossilator Pro provides four individual Loop Recorder Banks with realtime looping, layering and DJ-Style remixing. Loops data can be saved to SD media storage cards and transferred via USB to a computer for further use in a DAW.
The Korg Kaossilator Pro dynamic phrase synth provides stereo inputs and outputs on RCA pairs, plus an un-balanced 1/4-inch microphone input. A 1/4-inch headphone jack is located on the front panel. MIDI IN and OUT allow the KAOSSILATOR PRO to be an expressive MIDI controller; USB MIDI is also provided. The responsive, illuminated touchpad can be configured to display custom messages when idle, for adding extra flair during a performance.
