The Korg Electribe ESX-1 SD sampling workstation has the features of the Electribe SX including ease of use, powerful sampling technology, and crazy sound-shaping tools, plus the flexibility of storing and recalling song data from up to 32GB SDHC cards and is pre-loaded with material from some of the world's hottest underground electronic musicians, including Emika, the Anti-pop Consortium, Shrikednb (Tom Thorpe), Denkitribe, mryat, and Scribej.

The Korg Electribe ESX-1 SD is one of the easiest-to-use sequencers plus real-time recording makes it easy to capture phrases on the fly, step sequencing allows individually programing each note's timing, pitch, and duration with simple controls. Combining real-time recording and step sequencing is a quick way to lay down musical ideas and develop them. And the Korg Electribe ESX-1 SD sampling workstation allows you to record and edit more than just note data, via its expressive motion-sequencing functions.

Motion sequencing records layers of knob adjustments in real time, allowing you to build intensely complex sequences, one simple layer at a time. Edit note data and edit motion sequences one step at a time. With up to 24 motion sequences per pattern, you have more than enough available layers to touch every major parameter. The Korg Electribe ESX-1 SD includes 192 pre-programmed patterns and you can create complete songs inside the Electribe ESX1 SD, or sync it to other gear. Both onboard MIDI I/O and automatic BPM detection allow the Korg Electribe ESX1 SD sampling worksation to play well with other synths or drum machines.

The Korg Electribe ESX1 SD sampling workstation is the perfect counterpart to the Electribe MXSD, using flexible sampling technology to provide killer groove-making tools. The Electribe ESX-1 SD features 16 simultaneous sampling parts, nine one-shot sample slots perfect for drums, dialogue clips, and effects, as well as two melodic parts for playing samples at various pitches via either the pads or an external keyboard controller. Other sampling functions include Stretch Parts, which conform to the tempo, and Slice Parts, which allow you to creatively rearrange loops. You can even record you own loops inside of the Electribe ESX1 SD and resample them. Combined with the Electribe ESX1 SD's intense effects engines, these sampling methods give you serious sound-shaping power.

A ribbon controller and slider have been added to the Korg Electribe ESX-1 SD sampling workstation as a realtime interface for accessing the arpeggiator. Together, they allow you to enter pattern data or perform over a pattern. When playing a synth part, select a scale type or hold down a few notes, the ribbon controller will affect note duration, and the slider can be played in realtime to generate new phrases. For a drum part, touching the ribbon will trigger notes, and sliding your finger up and down will change the note resolution.

The Korg Electribe ESX1 SD sampling workstation comes packed with killer effects. Dual 12AX7 valves drive Korg's Valve Force technology which adds fat and warm overtones to your sounds. The Korg Electribe ESX-1 SD workstation's three stereo effects processors include the usual reverb, delay, flanger, and chorus effects plus Talking Modulator which adds wild formant shifting to give you sounds that fall anywhere between a Frampton-esque vibe and an alien's chattering, Grain Shifter to create glittery overtones or digital chaos. Configure the Electribe ESX-1 SD's effects engines either independently or in series, there's no limit to the amazing sounds you can create.
