The Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 combines Focusrite's Liquid dynamic convolution technology with a 26-input / 26-output FireWire audio interface.

The Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 contains two third generation dynamic convolution Liquid preamps each providing a choice of ten different pre-amp emulations, including emulations based on the classic Neve 1073, Pultec MB-1, Telefunken V72 mic pres. In addition to the 2 Liquid preamps, the Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 provides 6 additional Focusrite low noise and distortion mic- preamp's, 10 analogue outputs, 16 channels of ADAT input/output, stereo S/PDIF or AES input/output on RCA phono, MIDI In/Out, 2 virtual loopback inputs for routing digital audio between software applications, and BNC wordclock In/Out. All inputs and outputs can be used at the same time for a simultaneous track count of 26 Inputs/Outputs. Every analogue channel features 48V phantom power and a high pass filter, switchable from the front panel. The two direct guitar inputs feature -9dB pads for additional headroom. 5-LED front panel montoring for all inputs, including ADAT and SPDIF. Mic, Line and Instrument inputs use seperate connectors, selectable from the Focusrite control software, so inputs can remain permanently connected even when not being used for a particular session. Two independent headphone buses on the Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 provide two monitor mixes, each with front panel level controls. BNC word clock I/O allows the Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 to act as the studio's master clock or as a slave to an existing clock.

The Focusrite Saffire Mix Control zero-latency 18 x 16 mixer / router software provides ultra flexible control over routing and monitoring, including presets for immediate set up of common mixing situations, and full metering across all inputs, outputs and submixes.

Liquid Saffire 56 ships bundled with the Focusrite plug-in suite conting Focusrite Compression, Reverb, Gating and EQ VST/AU plug-ins provide a significant upgrade from standard sequencer effects.
