The Cakewalk A-500S 49-key USB MIDI controller keyboard works with a wide range of PC and Mac software including SONAR, Music Creator, Garage Band, FL Studio, Ableton Live, Sequel, Cubase, Reason, ACID, and others. For Windows users getting started with computer music, the Cakewalk by Roland A-500S USB MIDI controller keyboard is bundled with the Cakewalk Production Plus Pack software. And the Cakewalk A-500S controller keyboard is easy to set up, just plug-in a USB Cable, you will be making music in no time.

The Cakewalk A500S MIDI controller provides real keyboard feel and response with rounded keys, low mechanical noise and no vertical shake from key strokes. The rubber-coated Pitch Bend / Modulation lever design offers expressive control. The Cakewalk A-500S keyboard's MIDI control is provided via a rotary encoder to set up MIDI channel, Program Change, Control Change, and to display values on the 3-digit 7-segment LED. When working with virtual instruments, you can set this rotary encoder knob for quick control of LFO, Filter, or other controls.

Match your playing style on the Cakewalk A-500S USB MIDI controller keyboard with a selection of twelve velocity curves, four velocity curves and three kinds of sensitivity (Light, Medium, and Heavy). Fixed Velocity Mode is provided where the Cakewalk A-500S keybaord always outputs a fixed velocity from 1 to 127, providing input for drum and percussion programming in step recording.

All connections are located on the side, USB, MIDI OUT, plus separate Hold and Expression pedal ports, so the Cakewalk A-500S controller keyboard can be used infront of a computer monitor or laptop. The Cakewalk A-500S USB MIDI controller keyboard can be powered from a choice of three power sources: USB bus power, batteries, or AC Adapter. The Cakewalk A-500S controller works with USB-Bus power so nopower supply is required when connecting via USB cable. The Cakewalk A-500S MIDI keyboard controller can also be powered via four AA batteries or by an by an optional Boss PSA AC adaptor.

The Cakewalk A-500S USB MIDI controller keyboard uses Roland's FTP Fast Processing Technology for stable, high speed, low-latency, and low-jitter MIDI transmission. When working with virtual instruments, Fast Processing Technology provides lower latencies to give the feel of playing a real instrument.

The bundled Production Plus Pack is a suite of music creation software that includes SONAR 8.5 LE recording software for PC only and three virtual instruments for Mac and PC: Rapture LE synthesizer software with 198 leads, basses and pads, Cakewalk Sound Center with 100 high-quality sounds, and Studio Instruments Drums for pro-sounding drum tracks. Sonar LE music production software for Windows provides 32 audio tracks, 64 MIDI tracks, six wtudio-quality effects, and two virtual instruments.
