An AKG D5 dynamic microphone bundled with a 5m XLR-XLR cable and a boom mic stand.
The AKG D5 is a live performance vocal mic designed for singers in high sound pressure level bands. Condenser power from a rugged dynamic microphone in both live and recording situations.
The AKG D5 dynamic vocal microphone for lead and backing vocals delivers a powerful vocal sound even from the loudest stage. The wide frequency response of the AKG D5 slightly favours the midfrequency and treble regions to ensures good intelligibility of speech. With a supercardioid polar response, the AKG D5 is most sensitive to sound arriving from in front, and less sensitive to sound arriving from the sides and rear for maximum gain before feedback. The D5 stands for a crisp sound that cuts through the loudest mix.
For the D5, AKG employed the first microphone diaphragm ever whose thickness varies across its diameter. The new Laminated Varimotion diaphragm deep-drawing process allows the diaphragm itself to be fine-tuned with no extra tuning resonators, leading to a massive leap in audio performance.
The AKG D5 dual shockmount eliminates mechanical handling and cable noise for trouble-free live use. A rugged front grillmade of spring-steel wiremesh that is extremely resistant to deformation and a sturdy zinc alloy die-cast body effectively protect the microphone and transducer element from damage on stage and on the road.
